From Sweet Taste of Liberty to The Fight:  Sitcom character inconsistencies.

As many people that know me may know, I’m, unashamedly, a huge fan of the CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother.  I don’t feel I need to justify myself, so for now I won’t (although later posts about its virtues are sure to come).  In short, it’s a great show that harkens back to the glory days of the American sitcom, ala Cheers, Threes Company, Growing Pains, and Who’s the Boss, some of my childhood favorites.

What I want to talk about today, however, is a small issue I have noted—one of a few inconsistencies I hope to expose along with other musings I intend to bestow over the coming months as I re-watch every episode of every season from 1 to 4, leading up to the release of Season 5 on DVD, which should happen some time in September (Note:  I don’t usually watch on actual TV; I have no clue what’s going on in Season 5; don’t spoil it for me).
